Have you ever wanted to run away and live a life of crime in the 90s? Well now is your chance with Mighty Yell’s new game, The Big Con. This is the first title out of the Toronto Studio and is being published by Skybound Games who has recently been in the news for their newest experimental title, called Before Your Eyes. The Big Con is coming to multiple platforms sometime this summer.
The Big Con follows Ali, a high school girl, as she attempts to go on a cross-country road trip in order to save her family’s video game store from loan sharks. On her journey across America, she will need to resort to pickpocketing and breaking and entering to survive. To help she will don a plethora of costumes and use her charisma to talk her way into deals and out of sketchy situations all while keeping her mom in the dark. Players can pick who they think deserves to be conned or who they want to help.
However, one of the things that stands out most about The Big Con is the oversaturated art style, reminiscent of old 90s VHS tapes. The publisher, Skybound Games, has emphasized the importance of nostalgia to the making and experience of The Big Con.
The game is funny, entertaining and has made all of us at Skybound miss the ’90s! We are elated to welcome The Big Con into the Skybound Games fold and can’t wait to introduce it to indie game and fellow ‘90s fans later this summer!
The Big Con is expected to release this summer on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
