7th Dragon III: Code VFD is the latest installment in the 7th Dragon RPG series. 7th Dragon III: Code VFD has released demo that is available in North America for download via the Nintendo eShop. The player’s save file from the demo will be transferable to the main game. The demo will allow the player to use a streamlined cast of characters. The player’s party is pre made for the demo and the party will have a level cap of 10 for the demo. The player will have the option to customize the group however they want.
Earlier this year, a gameplay trailer was released for 7th Dragon III: Code VFD, showcasing the game’s battle system. 7th Dragon III: Code VFD will allow the player to customize their party from the very start of the game and will allow the player to build a party of up to nine characters. The game will also include eight classes and up to 96 appearance options for customizing the game’s characters. Downloadable content for the game, in the form of additional quests, is also planned for release after and coinciding with the game’s initial North American release. 7th Dragon III: Code VFD takes place in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo, in the year 2100 where dragons are constantly invading the city. The player controls a dragon hunter teaming up with a video game company, that has dedicated itself to stopping the dragons that hold the world at their mercy. The player must travel through time to put an end to the tyranny of the dragons, culminating in fighting the 7th Dragon, the titular VFD. The game has received mostly positive reviews. Premier Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu gave 7th Dragon III: Code VFD a 34 out of a possible 40 points, receiving 8s and 9s overall.
7th Dragon III: Code VFD is set to be released in North America July 12th and will be made available for Nintendo 3DS.
