Halo Infinite will have a campaign co-op available soon. The campaign network will run in the week of July 11. The campaign co-op will be able to be played on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Co-op will also support up to 4 players and will be able to be played on Xbox Cloud.
The campaign co-op option will be able to count towards your already save files but players will be able to create a new co-op save if they want to do that as well. The Player’s progress will also count towards their main playthrough. As stated by Isaac Bender the principal software engineering lead,
One of our core principles is that we don’t want to require you to have an isolated co-op save. Of course, you can use a save slot for co-op if you want to, but we wanted to give players the option to have co-op progress count toward your “main” playthrough, if thats how you want to play.
The Player’s items will be transferred to their own solo play game. players will not have to worry about anything that they got from co-op not going into their own game. As stated by John Mulkey the lead world designer,
I could be playering solo canpaign, jump into a co-op session for a few hours then lauch back into solo play and all mission progress, acquired collectibles, equipment found, achievements earned, and upgrades made in either session would be intact. Gone are the days of playing someone else’s game while earning no progress.
While playing Halo Infinite co-op everyone will be Master Chief. Halo Infinite will also have cross-play which means PC and Xbox players can all play together.
In co-op play, there is an area-of-operations which means there is a maximum distance that players can go from each other. The warning Distance is 800ft and players will be killed when they get to 1000ft and be spawned back to a nearby teammate. In case players wanted to replay the missions, they can and still be able to use the skills that they have already collected. As stated by Mulkey,
In both Solo and Co-Op play, you can open your Tac-Map, highlight a completed mission, and then choose Replay. You will then be prompted to select the difficulty and be offered to activate any Skulls you (or your teammates) have collected.
To be a part of Halo Infinite’s test flights, you need to be in the Halo Insider program to join and meet all the requirements.
