2K Details Post-Launch Content For Mafia III, Including Expansions And Free DLC

Yesterday, 2K Games posted info on the post-launch content players can expect from the upcoming open-world shooter, Mafia III on the game’s website.

Fans can expect a host of new weapons, character outfits, vehicle customizations, and races to be added to the game at various points after launch. As a treat for players, all of these DLC packs will be free to all players.

Thirty days after the game is released, anyone that bought the game, regardless if they pre-ordered it, bought it at launch, or after the fact will get access to the “Judge, Jury, and Executioner” Golden weapons pack. The DLC contains three snazzy looking guns: a .30 rifle called “The Praecisione”, a shotgun called “The Exterminatore” and a silenced pistol called “The Silentium”.

Players will also be able to outfit their cars with “new wheels, personalized license plates, and paint jobs” and have the option to boost the performance of their car.

What good is a beefed-up ride if you can’t show it off? At some point after launch, the team will release a series of races. In the races, players can earn money and special customization options. No further details were given, but 2K promises that more info would be coming in the future.

The much-requested character customization feature will also be making its way into Mafia III. Players will be able to dress the game’s protagonist Lincoln in various outfits to fit their own style.

Mafia III will be getting three paid expansions as well. The expansions will be separate from the main story, and designed to reveal more about Lincoln’s time in New Bordeaux. The expansions will feature new activities, weapons, vehicles, outfits, and races along with the story addition.

The first is called Faster, Baby! Like you would expect, the expansion will have plenty of dramatic races and car chases as Lincoln and a former flame attempt to take down a sheriff harassing Civil Rights activists outside of the city.

In Sign of the Times, Lincoln is asked by a local priest to track down a cult responsible for a series of strange ritualistic killings. The expansion will take Lincoln, and the player, deep into the old bayou.

Lastly, Stones Unturned teams Lincoln up with an FBI agent to settle a blood feud that goes all the way to Vietnam.

You can pick you the expansions individually, which will run you around $40 for all three, or you can get the season pass for $30. The season pass is also included with the Deluxe Edition for $80.

Mafia III will be out on October 7th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
