In a press release sent out yesterday, Batterystaple Games and Fire Hose Games announced that their rougelike action platformer, 20XX, is releasing on all modern consoles. The game came out on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 yesterday, and will release on the Xbox One today.
20XX is a game inspired by the beloved Mega Man games. It builds upon Capcom’s classic formula by integrating local and online co-op and contemporary roguelike elements into a retro design. This creates a addictive gameplay experience based off of players improving their skills and situational awareness. Each play session plays out differently, and the game offers a daily challenge mode, multiple difficulty settings that appeal to the whole spectrum of player skill, and a chiptune-inspired soundtrack that brings together the best of old-school and modern video game music.
20XX was originally released on Steam on August 16, 2017. It sold more than 100,000 units and was named one of Valve’s Top Early Access Graduates of 2017. The console version will be sold together with DLC that adds the character Hawk. Also being released at the same time as the console version is a DLC that adds the character Draco to the game.

20XX is available now for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. It will release for Xbox One today, and all console versions will sell for $17.99. The game has language options for English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.
