Recently, the developers of the battle royale game Fortnite released a new gameplay mode that has become popular amongst the fans. It is known as Zero Build Mode, and players find themselves enjoying the game more than ever. Originally, “building” was a core gameplay element that consisted of repairing or upgrading basic structures to use as functional defense forts. For some, “building” could take players a while to master, making them less invested in the game entirely. With Zero Build Mode, this entire element was removed, and players could no longer gather resources to build forts. Players have noted that this new gameplay mode challenges them to think quickly without the extra protection. Overall, Zero Build Mode has been successful and is now here to stay as a permanent feature in Fortnite.
Following the success of Zero Build Mode and the beginning of a new season, Epic Games has been working on a first-person mode for the free-to-play game. Fortnite news source HYPEX has announced this information on their Twitter account. Fortnite has always been set in a third-person perspective, but there have been slight touches of a first-person perspective in the past. For example, the camera zooms in when the player aims with a sniper rifle or other long-range rifles.
FIRST PERSON CAMERA IN FORTNITE 🔥
This update Epic began working on some stuff about first person camera mode but there’s no other info about it at the moment as it looks like it’s still in early development. Would work REALLY well for the Zero Build Modes 👀 pic.twitter.com/PIRRmdLyp0

Competitor games such as Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warfare have always been played in first-person. Even with the implementation of the first-person mode in Fortnite, it would still maintain its distinguishable identity with the bright and colorful vibes it brings to the battle royale genre. Many competitors aim for a more “realistic” feel to their environment. Plus, Fortnite is a very popular franchise!
At this point, there is no additional information regarding the possibility of a first-person mode in Fortnite. With Epic Games still testing this feature, it most likely will not be implemented until the next season.
