As hinted by a Tweet from Injustice comic writer, Tom Taylor, another title in the series might be coming in the future. As he tweeted the letters “I” and “N” (the first two letters of Injustice), the letters were also followed up by Batman’s quote, “things could have been different… if they were still here.” As these tweets come after the Injustice games were offered for free on Steam in June, along with NetherRealm (who is also responsible for the Mortal Kombat franchise) hinting that they would like to branch out to other franchises such as the Marvel universe.

For those speculations to come true, however, there would need to be a comic release before the game. While the previous two Injustice comics are both prequels to their respective alternate universe games, there could be a possibility that DC Comics could be looking for a continuation of these universes. As of now, there are no releases for the Injustice comics on the calendar for DC.
At the same time, NetherRealm posted a job listing on their website saying that they are looking to bring someone to develop Mortal Kombat and Injustice to PlayStation 5 and Xbox One. Taking into account that the studio seems to alternate between the Mortal Kombat and Injustice franchises, there might be some hope for those looking for this announcement specifically at the DC Fandom event on August 22nd.
Along with this possibility happening at the DC Fandome event, there are also rumors of the upcoming DC Universe games being announced at this event as well (along with the already confirmed Suicide Squad game). Recently, Reddit users found DC-related domains purchased and relating to possible games, along with the Warner Brothers Montreal Twitter account teasing a new Batman game with a new logo.
