While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the best selling game of 2019 and has broken numerous records for Activision, one of the things that many people were wondering is whether or not it would be getting a battle royale mode after Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 introduced the mode to the franchise last year. The developers at Infinity Ward said that they didn’t see the mode fitting in with the tone of Modern Warfare. However, a new leak has revealed that Modern Warfare will be getting a battle royale mode and it will be substantially bigger than what was in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
The leak, posted on Reddit reveals a lot about what may be coming to Modern Warfare. The biggest difference between this battle royale mode compared to other battle royale offers is the player count. Typically, battle royales have offered 100 player count per match, but Modern Warfare‘s player count will be 200. Players can choose to participate in either solos, duos, or squads. If you are killed during the match, you may have a chance to respawn by entering the Gulag, where you will compete in a 1v1 to respawn back into the match.
Players can also take on missions that can be looted by finding tablets. Mission types that will be available include Tracked, Timed Run, Assassination (eliminate specific player), Scavenger Hunt (collect scavenger crates), Domination (capture domination point) Random (Random Mission). Completing missions and eliminating enemies will reward players with plunder which can be used to purchase game-changing items. Plunder can also be converted into XP if you choose to.
The map zones in the overall map are called Airfield, Boneyard, Dam, Downtown, Gulag, Hospital, Layover, Lumber, Overgrown, Port, Quarry, Storage Town, Supercenter, Trainyard, and TV Station. Points of Interest throughout the map include Bank, Fire Station, Gas Station, Gun Station, Pharmacy, and Police Station.
