Developer Bedtime Digital Games has announced that their new title Figment, the musical adventure game, is coming the Nintendo Switch later this year, and has released a new trailer along with the announcement. Creative director and co founder Jonas Byrresen stated “We’re really pleased to announce Figment for the Nintendo Switch, We feel the platform is a perfect match for Figment’s whimsical world, its intuitive combat mechanics, and its hours of puzzle-filled storytelling.”
The game has already been announced for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC so it looks like the developers aren’t shy from expanding to other platforms. In this game, the protagonists Dusty and his friend Piper work their way through parts of the mind fighting singing nightmares and solving puzzles. The game’s official description reads “Figment is a musical action-adventure set in the recesses of the human mind: a strange and surreal world; a place filled with our deepest thoughts, urges and memories, populated by the many voices we hear in our heads.”
The game is not only an adventure but a full on musical that is performed by the enemies throughout the mind. The musical performances themselves will be defined on the player’s exploration of the world. Co-founded by Klaus Pedersen and Jonas Byrresen, Digital Games is an individual studio based in Denmark that initially started off working on a student project. The developer ended up becoming a full studio after the release of its award winning title Back To Bed. Figment will be coming to PC this September with console versions coming after that.
