Rockstar has posted on their official website, their Twitter and their Facebook page the above logo. The logo is accompanied by nothing else. The logo is a faded and red version of the Rockstar games logo and for is an immediately recognizable aesthetic for any fan of the Red Dead series. The color scheme has become synonymous with the game series. On Facebook and Twitter that logo and other seemingly Red Dead themed logos are everywhere. This is leading many to believe that Rockstar is teasing an impending official Red Dead Redemption sequel announcement.

Earlier this year a map was leaked that was supposedly associated with alleged Red Dead Redemption sequel but at the time no official announcement of the game was given. There was also no word on the sequel at major industry events like Gamescom or E3. Rockstar as a whole has remained pretty mum on whether or not a sequel was in development, instead using vague statements like “Rockstar is of course at work on some future projects that will be revealed soon.”
The time for an official announcement seems right. Red Dead Revolver was recently re-released in the PlayStation store and it seems like many have Red Dead on the mind. It’s been 6 years since the release of Red Dead Redemption which originally came out in May of 2010 for the last generation of consoles and 12 years since Red Dead Revolver was released for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. With the major success of Red Dead Redemption even after the original release with a number of DLC products a sequel would make sense. There is also a possibility that this teaser could be promotional for Red Dead Redemption becoming available to play on the PlayStation 4. It could even possibly be teasing a Red Dead Redemption PC port, but in all honesty this promotional material seems a bit too grandiose in the way it leaves so much to the imagination for it to be for something like a re-release or port.
