The upcoming action-adventure platformer from Konami Digital Entertainment and ZDT Studio titled Darwin’s Paradox! is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam in 2026. The game stars the game’s namesake, Darwin, an octopus that slipped from his home, the sea, into the chaotic world under attack by UFOOD INC.’s quest for world domination. The original release was moved from its initial December 2025 release to 2026 in order to bring Darwin’s Paradox! to Nintendo Switch 2.

The trailer for the game is currently available on Konami’s YouTube Channel here. Those curious about the game can watch as Darwin is caught and taken from his home, only to escape the containment of his captors. Darwin avoids traps, suction cups himself to items, and dodges underwater mines in laboratories, underwater, and fancy buildings in his attempt to stop UFOOD INC.’s plans.

Konami and ZDT Studio have also released a dev diary video titled “Darwin’s Deep Dive – What Is Darwin’s Paradox?”, available on Konami’s YouTube Channel here. In the three minute dev diary log, the team behind Darwin’s Paradox! delves into the story and inspirations behind the game. The dev shows reverence for octopi and their capabilities, talking about how the amazing feats and abilities of octopi inspired them. The devs featured in the diary are Mikael Tanguy (Artistic Director), Gilles Aujard (Creative Director), and Romuld Capron (Executive Producer). Towards the end of the video, they describe how they want Darwin’s Paradox! to go back to the “pleasure of the old-days games,” where the focus of the game is on the gameplay itself while the narrative supports and is supported by it.
