A new game titled Wildgate was released this past Tuesday, July 22, 2025, and the early feedback from those who have played it have been overwhelmingly positive. Wildgate is available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, along with PC through Steam. The game was developed by Moonshot Games and published by Dreamhaven. Interestingly, when it comes to the developer of Wildgate, Moonshot Games, this appears to be their debut project according to their own website. Something else of note when it comes to the game is that it costs $29.99 at launch, significantly less than its AAA competitors, which typically price their games at $69.99. As for the game itself, Wildgate is described as a multiplayer, co-op, first-person, space, adventure style game. The game is said to blend tactical ship-to-ship combat with fast-paced first-person action. Going into more detail on both the plot and gameplay for Wildgate, Dreamhaven said:

Evade deadly environmental hazards, search for powerful weapons and ship upgrades, and be the first crew to escape with the Artifact… or the last crew left flying.

Many of the early reviewers mentioned that they played the game during its early beta availability, saying that the game was enjoyable then and has only improved since. The ship wreck gunfights were described as immersive and dynamic, and the overall combat is described as not extremely unequal, no matter the circumstances for when the battle begins. The reason for this, according to a reviewer, is that players can steal superior weapons off their opponents, or can strategize with their teammates. Among the few complaints were that the game is not suitable for solo players, and that lots of teamwork is required to succeed. Another complaint made by a reviewer is that the game is ‘’pay to play’’, though the same reviewer also acknowledged that the game itself was enjoyable to play.
