An announcement for two new titles in Sony Interactive Entertainments’ India Hero Project has been made. Among the two games is a third-person action adventure game Bloody Boots from developer Weloadin and a 3D Platformer known as Lokko from developer Appy Monkeys. Gematsu shares that the India Hero Project aims to support game development in India.
Bloody Boots is set within Cranktown, a dystopian entertainment hub powered by ‘junk-punk’ advancements in technology. You assume the role of a fugitive teen trapped in the town. You’ll spend time fighting mech-enhanced mutants and bosses with the goal of earning your ticket out.
In Lokko you will assume the role of Lokko and aid his brother with the intent to overcome the Goobol corporation whilst delivering pizzas. Lokko features level editors for platforming and car racing; levels can be created and distributed and feature both controller and keyboard support. Enemy behavior can be edited with painting blocks and racing tracks can be edited in track editor.
Giving us some further insight into the PlayStation’s Indian Hero Project, PlayStation interviewed developer Holy Cow Production’s Goutham Dindukurthi and asked what it’s like being a part of the Project. Dindukurthi responded “…We were running through so many emotions and had no idea what to say or how to react. From then it’s been such a great experience, with an experienced team at Sony that’s been helping us out in a lot of things that come to the development of the project. We get constant feedback and also have a lot of opportunities to talk to people from the industry and see how we should go ahead with our development.”
The proof is in these studios abilities to deliver quality titles. Sony is lending a helping hand in the India Hero Project just as with the China Hero Project. We will have to wait and see how these promising titles Bloody Boots and Lokko perform when they release stateside.
