Side-scrolling and futuristic sci-fi metroidvania ReSetna has been announced for a January 31 2025 release date on PC and Nintendo Switch. Publisher indie.io and developer Today’s Games have also announced a Q1 2025 release window for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of ReSetna.
ReSetna features a world fractured and set into decaying zones; A digital frequency is wreaking havoc on its robotic inhabitants. You will assume the role of ReSetna, a combat-ready robot and her drone companion IXA who’ve been awakened by ‘Apex-AI’ and tasked to stop the spread of the signal. You’ll explore these once thriving areas and battle enemies found within. Gematsu reports that the ReSetna blends tactical elements, combat and storytelling.
Resetna is set across seven zones and will feature over 20 hours of gameplay. The latest trailer has revealed The Darkness Zone within the desolate region across Acidia and several of the game’s bosses. Noteworthy is the ReSetna soundtrack, composed by Nikola Jeremic, which blends organic and synthetic sounds reflecting the world’s setting; Developer Today’s Games has shared about their efforts to express their storytelling through their art, “Each boss is unique, telling a dark story of the forgotten past. Through our art, we sought to let the visuals speak for themselves, embracing the power of visual storytelling,” the team explained. ReSetna also features a tetris-style upgrade system, allowing players to collect and customize for abilities and upgrades.
Resetna will be localized in English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese. Spanish, Portuguese, German, French and Russian. The demo for Resetna is readily available on Steam now featuring the first zone Polis13 and a boss fight. With the game being released shortly for PC and Nintendo Switch owners and at least within the first quarter of 2025 for others, players won’t have to wait long for developer Today’s Games first outing in the genre.
