With Lidia Sobieska’s reveal trailer at EVO Japan for Bandai Namco’s flagship fighting game, Tekken 8, fans of the series have been following the breadcrumbs and have put a few pieces together. Ever since it was first announced Tekken 8 has been plagued with several supposed data leaks that may or may not have revealed a lot of their upcoming features and roster selections, but the absolute slew of fake leaks had seemingly buried any possible truth one might find in there. However, with Eddie Gordo’s release as the first season’s first DLC character, and Lidia Sobieska revealed as the second, that pile of possibilities gets a lot smaller. In fact, Eddie and Lidia are exact picks in one specific leak that was posted months ago.
DLC S1 Spoiler thread for #TEKKEN8
For those unfamiliar, I confirmed and debunked several leaks during the CNT (see quote tweet). I will be using the same methods for this.

With Eddy having already been announced, we can see clues to him in the strings. Capoeira is listed as a fighting style in the text for the character select screen. Brazil is also listed as a country of origin for a character. pic.twitter.com/BjU2CtLvcv

We have new evidence for Marduk, the text from the CNT is still there in the same place as last time…https://t.co/Yp0PtL3FX0

This is 100% Lidia. Couldn't find a fighting style, but doesn't matter. She was sort of a T8 character trapped in T7 I think. pic.twitter.com/DqbtHJ5tju

As seen above, that leaker has revealed that the first season’s DLC roster will consist of Eddie Gordo, Lidia Sobieska, Craig Marduk, and Fahkumram. To fans of Tekken, or at least to fans of Tekken 7, this news is probably extremely disappointing. Eddie is a staple of the series but Lidia, Marduk, and especially Fahkumram are not very well liked by the game’s playerbase, especially considering they were competitively dominant upon release, and with the way Tekken 8’s gameplay has been shaping up, Eddie hasn’t exactly made any new fans either.
Now again, these are just speculation and we can’t be sure of anything until we actually see Marduk and Fahkumram’s trailers. However, as stated in the article linked above, Shootmans is very much a credible leaker and with Eddie and Lidia, the evidence adds up. Many players will likely be in for disappointment come Marduk and Fahkumram’s reveals, but hopefully at least with their releases Bandai Namco will continue to improve the game itself, even if the DLC choices aren’t exactly what anyone wants.
