Capcom made a recent celebratory announcement for the latest entry in the Street Fighter franchise. As of January 3rd, Street Fighter 6 has passed over 3 million sold units units sold worldwide. Shortly after the announcement, Capcom thanked fans on Twitter alongside a drawing of The of the franchises popular characters Chun-Li.

The press release noted Capcom’s decisions that led the game to reach this milestone, such as increasing the game’s presence in the esports scene, collaborations with other IP, DLC characters and costumes, which increased interest for the game to the public.
Additionally, Capcom recognized the game’s other achievements including its win of The Best Fighting Game Award at The Game Awards 2023. Lastly, the company promised a continued commitment to creat “highly entertaining gameplay experiences” for its player base.
“…Capcom remains firmly committed to satisfying the expectations of all players by leveraging its industry-leading game development capabilities in order to create highly entertaining gameplay experiences,” Capcom wrote.
Since it’s release in June 2023, Street Fighter 6 revolutionized the franchise, bringing in old and new audiences together with its vibrant art style and stylish character creation. According to SteamDB, Street Fighter 6 has accrued a player base of over 23,000 with a June 2023 peak of over 70,000.
Street Fighter 6 is available for Xbox X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
