Earlier this year, Evercade announced the Evercade EXP, a new handheld retro gaming system set to release on November 24, 2022. Evercade said that bonus content would be announced in September. in the initial announcement. The company has revealed that 18 built-in games from the legendary arcade and console game publisher Capcom will be a part of the Evercade EXP. The collection includes fantastic platformers, vertical and horizontal shooters, beat ’em ups, and the most iconic fighting game of all time from the 1980s and 1990s.

The full list of Capcom titles includes 1942 (Arcade version), 1943 (Arcade version), 1944: The Loop Master (Arcade version), Bionic Commando (Arcade version), Captain Commando (Arcade version), Commando (Arcade version), Final Fight (Arcade version), Forgotten Worlds (Arcade version), Ghouls ‘n Ghosts (Arcade version), Legendary Wings (Arcade version), MERCS (Arcade version), Street Fighter II’: Hyper Fighting (Arcade version), Strider (Arcade version), Vulgus (Arcade version), Mega Man (8-bit), Mega Man 2 (8-bit), Mega Man X (16-bit), and Breath of Fire (16-bit).
All of these are built-in to the device. There are no physical cartridges. There are no downloads or code redemption. These games can be played right out of the box. A full-color manual will be included for the entire collection.
Some of the games such as 1942, 1943, Commando, Legendary Wings, and MERCS takes advantage of the Evercade EXP’s new TATE mode. The TATE mode allows vertical games to play the way they were meant to. All players have to do is turn the Evercade EXP 90 degrees and play using the dedicated buttons.
In addition, The Evercade EXP will come with IREM Arcade 1, a new arcade collection featuring 6 games: R Type, Moon Patrol, In The Hunt, 10-Yard Fight, Battle Chopper, and Lighting Swords.
Preorders for the EXP open on September 6, 2022, for £129.99/$149.99/€149.99. It comes with a white EXP console, USB-C charging cable, a quick start guide, 18 built-in games from Capcom and the IREM Arcade 1 cartridge collection.
The Evercade EXP Limited Edition comes with everything you would get with a purchase of the regular edition but the Evercade EXP Limited Edition console is black and comes with the Toaplan Arcade 1 cartridge collection, a hard carry case only available in this collection, art cards, a poster, and a collectible keyring.
