Developed by Two Point Studios and published by Sega Two Point Museum is the newest simulator in the Two Point franchise. This time around the player takes control and runs a museum that constantly needs to adapt and evolve with new exhibits. The owners need to be able to keep up with the crowds by; hiring staff, going on expeditions to find new attractions, building rooms to aid in researching and developing new and exciting attractions, maintaining customer interest both adults and children, and many other exciting surprises that are sure to bring in more donations and monthly grants. For players who enjoy simulators that allow the ability to take control of a business, this will be the game for them, and if there are players They don’t then this game might change their minds.
The gameplay of Two Point Museum centers around the player taking on the role of a museum manager as they design a museum by building up its exhibit collection and ensuring all operations run at acceptable levels. Unlike the previous entries in the series players will need to build specific rooms, utilizing ropes and other means of directional guidance. The players’ goals are to generate Buzz by keeping their museums well-decorated and having their exhibits well-explained to educate guests. A well-maintained museum will encourage guests to donate to the museum that way players will be able to add onto them with more buildings and locations. Along with adding and maintaining exhibits players will also need to build gift shops, restrooms, restaurants for the guest’s pleasure and even staff rooms to keep their employees Energized and happy. Players are also able to build workshops to construct interactive exhibits such as themed playgrounds to keep children entertained. There are various types of visitors, each of whom has their preferences for exhibits.
The more exhibits that get acquired and analyzed the more knowledge about them and the eras they came from gets unlocked; analyzing them will also create perks that can be used to upgrade other exhibits. Information stands especially to help educate adult visitors more effectively. Guided tours for specific exhibits can be organized to ensure the demands of visitors are met. By catering to the needs of all tourists, The museum will receive more donations and strong reviews that are needed for more buzz and donations. Along with adding exhibits and building essential rooms players will also need to hire assistants to operate the ticket booths and registers at gift shops, security guards to protect the exhibits from being stolen or getting vandalized as well as collect donations, Janitors who keep everything clean and maintain all of the equipment, and finally experts who go out on expeditions to discover valuable artifacts and maintain them throughout the museum so that they don’t become dusty and boring as the game describes them once they reach that state. Some artifacts like dinosaur fossils require multiple expeditions to obtain the complete fossil. Expeditions can however be dangerous to the players’ experts; some might get injured if they don’t have the required skills or tools and in worse-case scenarios they may not even come back at all. Later on As the player continues to fill the museum with exhibits and important facilities they will achieve a one-star rating, and after they achieve this for their first museum they are given the ability to own another museum at a different location. Depending on which location gets chosen by the player first will gain the ability to add marine life exhibits or haunted exhibits to whatever museums they own. They will also be given the ability to purchase property to expand their museums as long as they meet the property’s expectations. Over time Players will be able to expand their museums with a large variety of diverse exhibits and attractions.
In terms of how well the game runs, there aren’t any noticeable bugs or moments of lag so for the most part The game runs incredibly smoothly even when there are crowds of people overflowing the museums. One aspect however regarding temperature management that is quite annoying involves installing heaters or freezers, when picking up the device everything turns one color so its hard to distinguish whether or not certain areas are being more heated or cooled down. Another issue can come from there being too many people, because if someone steals something there is a large possibility that they might be able to succeed because it’s hard to keep track of everyone especially when it’s overcrowded. Overall even though there isn’t much to the game outside of running multiple museums there is a lot of fun to be had.
