Zynga Teams Up With Snapchat to Bring Tiny Royale, a Bite-Sized Battle Royale Game on Snap Games

Let’s face it, battle royale games are pretty popular, and pretty fun. Especially now with games like PUBG and Fortnite: Battle Royale in the mobile scene. But with battles lasting for up towards 30 minutes because of the map shrinking in longer increments, it can be a little tricky to set aside time to team-up with friends or go solo to get through a full round. So why not make it a little more casual? That’s the goal with casual game developer Zynga Inc (creators of Merge Dragons!, Words With Friends, and Empires and Puzzles to name a few), have teamed up together with Snapchat to create their own version of a battle royale game known as Tiny Royale:

Tiny Royale is a battle royale game where players can choose completely customizable characters and team up with friends or go solo in these quick, 2 minute battles, to achieve victory over everyone else. This is a top down shooter that pairs 30 players together on a battlefield where they have to loot and shoot to win. The map will keep shrinking through this time frame as players take each other out, and the last person, or last team, to be standing wins.

With the casual version of the game, there will also be Tiny Royale Leagues which will be launched later this summer where players can go into a more competitive game. This mode will have 100 players, split into 5 tiers of 20 people. Players need to fight and climb their way up through the tiers to gain their rank. They will also be given rewards and trophies depending on their performance in the game.

This game will only be available on Snap Games using their PlayCanvas game engine. To start up a match with friends, all players have to do is request a round in a Chat with their friends, and begin a battle with everyone else. With this, players can also use voice chat in the game, making communication easier for players, and teamwork is key when it comes to teaming up.

Tiny Royale, the “bite-sized” battle royale game, is exclusively on Snapchat, but is currently live. Thankfully, Snapchat is free, so it’s easy to start playing this new experience for battle royale games.
