Just recently, developer Clapperheads and publisher Playworks have released an exclusive gameplay trailer for Zoochosis. Zoochosis is a horror game that was released on September 30th of last year on PC through, but now the game will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 through the PlayStation Store, and also the Epic Games Store according to the end of the trailer. Players are able to save the game on their wishlist now, but there was not an exact release date to when the game will be available as of yet.
The game first shows the player taking care of different animals around the zoo ground like pandas, ostriches, and giraffes. However, as the trailer progresses, it shows that the zoo is not what it seems to be. The trailer shows monstrous forms of the animals from before, they can transform into mutated creatures. The animals will hunt down the player, and it is up to the player to survive through their hunt. Players will be able to obtain weapons to defend themselves from these creatures like guns, which was shown in the trailer, and they can either choose to kill or to help cure the animals of the infection.
Playing as a Zookeeper, players will be able to take care of the animals such as preparing meals for them, and restocking and cleaning their cages. The objective for the player is to figure out what is causing the infection for the animals and to create a vaccine to cure them. Players are given an option on which animals they want to save and there are different endings players can experience based on their choices.
The developers themselves have given a content warning for the game, they said, “This game contains graphic depictions of nudity, including visible genitalia, and detailed dismemberment and gore. Players will encounter dead bodies and scenes involving intense violence, including blood and mutilation.”
