During GDC 2014, En Masse Entertainment announced the upcoming free-to-play third person PC shooter, Zombies Monsters Robots, to launch a public alpha test in April, with an “early access” version coming in May. The game will launch in full later this summer. This game was developed in collaboration with Yingpei Games, which forces players into co-op play during arenas that have hordes of enemies.
In the game, it all suddenly goes wrong when experimenting with interdimensional portals across parallel worlds, which led to enemies being unleashed into the world. As a player you must group together as two or more players to take these enemies down in different game modes, such as survival mode and hour-long campaigns. Up to eight players can work together, picking up items, laying down traps, and picking up weapons to use against multiple enemies at once, which all modes end in a boss battle against a high-level enemy. Some enemies include a cybernetic soldier, the undead and lethal mystical monsters. Zombies Monsters Robots will feature both PvE and PvP combat.
Other than playing on co-op modes, there are competitive modes that have up to 16 players going head-to-head, having events like humans vs. monsters mode. When you are a monster, you will be able to level up and upgrade your monster. After Zombies Monsters Robots launches, En Masse and Yingpei are planning support with free monthly updates that will add weapons, maps, and game modes. There is already a planned DLC that includes a Dino Island map, which is “overrun with dinosaurs with guns strapped to their backs.”
The game includes a full character customization, which includes many different weapon types, clothing options, and many other options which are all able to be purchased without real money.
