Zenless Zone Zero, Hoyoverse’s new gacha fighting rpg, is set to release next week on July 4th. Players can pre-register now and help the community work towards the pre-registration milestones. Earlier today the developers had a livestream to let players know some of what they can expect on launch day. Even some beta testers were shocked about how much new information was available for the launch.
First a ton of new characters were showcased in the stream, some of whom won’t be playable at launch but may be visible in the story. Two of these new characters were Piper and Lucy, A ranks from a new faction. Piper is a physical type agent who wields an axe and has a spin to win playstyle. Lucy was described as a support during the livestream and is a fire type agent who uses a baseball bat to turn her pig companions into projectiles.
In terms of initial banners the first two five star characters will be Ellen Joe and Zhu Yuan. Ellen will be available at launch as the first limited S rank modifier. She will be a ice attribute main dps style character who appeared as a character in the second closed beta. Zhu Yuan is a ether attribute character who also serves a dps role, by obtaining Zhu Yuan’s specific resource to trigger an enhanced mode in battle.
Beyond the characters, there will also be new maps available for players to explore outside the different game modes inside the hollow. Quality of Life updates have also been added after the second closed beta test. Overall launch seems to have a whole host of new content for players to enjoy. Zenless Zone Zero is set to release on July 4th. Pre-registration is available on the game’s website, Google Play or App store, and the Epic Games store.
