During Bethesda’s end of year livestream, lead by Zenimax Online’s studio director Matt Firor, they revealed the Skyrim expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online, along with a glimpse at the final part of the expansion that has taken over a year to unfold. The last entry in the Dark Heart of Skyrim expansion will be featuring Markarth and the province that is the Reach. The Reach is offering a new diverging questline, more bosses to conquer, and a new solo arena for players to battle in.
The public test serves opened up on Monday, September 21. Players partaking in the public tests will be able to test out the servers by playing the prologue segment of the entry. The prologue will lead the players down through the Reach and right to Markarth, where the final phase of the story officially begins and the place that will be the central hub for players as they complete their journey.
The trailer shows off new dungeons and the forested Reach environment. The new enemies are more beast-like and vampire focused as the year-long expansion focuses on the players struggling up against an ancient vampire lord that has been plaguing the Nord homeland. “These quests will take players on an adventure that leads directly into the main storyline of the Markarth DLC and the conclusion to the year-long story,” Bethesda says. “To jump in, simply visit the in-game Crown Store and pick up the quest starter. Anyone who owns the ESO base-game can experience this new adventure for free.”
The final phase of the expansion will be going out on November 2nd, and anyone who has Elder Scrolls Online Plus will get it for free. Everyone who does not have the Plus variant will have to buy the expansion individually at the in-game crown store.
