As the Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel anniversary continues, the duels continue with two ongoing events. March slowly approaches us and Master Duel Meta has leaked the new forbidden and ban list set to take effect in March. While the March list isn’t lengthy or complex, it does give certain archetypes the need for some wiggle room.
Most notably from the updated limit list, the Runick archetype was hit with three of its main cards being limited to two, Runick Destruction, Runick Freezing Curses, and Runick Slumber. All three of these cards are highly potent for this deck since they have the ability to easily banish cards from an opponent’s top deck. Now that it’s limited to two each, this does mean players will need to replace 3 slots with new cards since the game will only allow decks of 40 to 60 cards
Amano- Iwato was limited to one. This card was quite formidable since it is used as interruptions and stops players from making plays. This card does not allow the effects of monster cards to activate except for spirit monsters. Duelists often use this card to prevent their plays from being interrupted. Referring back to Runick, while this deck is strong, there are cards that would stop causing interruptions to this deck. Summoning Hugin the Runick Wings will allow players to add Runick Fountain from their deck to their hand. However, hand traps such as Ash Spring Blossom & Joyous Spring would negate the summoned monsters effect. With Amano – Iwato, players won’t be able to use monster effects, even from the hand, leaving players protected from interruptions from hand traps.
Fusion Destiny has been changed to two, allowing for more summons for HERO cards such as Evil HERO Malicious Bane and Destiny HERO Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer. Summoning these boss monsters on board will cause various interruptions for an opponent.
