You Can Play Pac-Man In Google Maps

Pacman is one of the most popular arcade games ever created. It has a simple premise: Eat a lot of dots before the ghosts eat you. Now that people are playing console games, Pac-Man isn’t generally played anymore, but now you can play Ms. Pac-Man on your Google Maps app. There’s a button to the right that shows an image of Ms. Pac-Man. All you have to do is press the button and your surroundings will be turned into a grid. To play, you just swipe your finger in the direction you want Ms. Pac-Man to go, and she will go that way. You have five lives in the game before it’s game over.

I live in High Point, North Carolina, which is a small city, so it wouldn’t be as “griddy,” but if you live in a place like New York City, it’ll look more like a Pac-Man grid there, since all of the main, busy roads are blocked shaped. The game could send you to random places in the world. Writers at Polygon said that they have been sent to places like Mexico City, Phoenix, Chicago’s Wrigley Field and Barcelona.

Usually, these additions are a part of an April’s Fools prank, so it is not likely to last very long, but if it was, it’s certainly something you can do if you’re just sitting someplace, passing time before a friend or bus comes to pick you up. It isn’t likely that this is a one-up to Pokémon Go, as they have already pulled a prank where you can use the map to catch Pokémon. Pac-Man fans may want to go ahead and play the game as soon as possible because if it is a prank, it will only be on Google maps for the next couple of days.

Game play of Ms. Pac-Man is seen below:

Bryan Ingram: My name is Bryan. I just graduated from High Point University with a degree in Journalism. I'm 25 and writing has always been a part of my life. I'm a big Pokémon fan, so I'l spend a lot of my time playing that. Other than that, I love sports, particularly the Charlotte Hornets and the Carolina Panthers. No matter how bad the team is, I will always rep them.
