At long last we finally have some news on the status of From Software’s masterpiece Bloodborne. Well, not necessarily status, but the IP isn’t completely left in the water, as of recently you can now purchase official Bloodborne clothes for yourself or others.
As shown above, the merch available are a pair of gloves, a pair of boots, and a pocket watch. Bloodborne is a lot of things, and stylish is definitely one of them so it is surprising they didn’t go for this sooner. True to Bloodborne’s setting, all these items have that true blue Victorian feel to them.
Any pair of leather gloves is going to make you feel like a tophat wanderer in 1800s London, but these gloves especially so, with a buckle and the Bloodborne symbol these can easily fit with most classy getups if you’re brave enough to try and pull them off. More subtle are the boots, which feature a nice pattern and look pretty comfortable and functional. The watch is its own thing, a regular watch is out of place on a wrist these days and a pocket watch is just asking to be the center of attention. But it does look incredibly good, and again if you’re brave enough to try and pull it off it’ll definitely be a conversation starter. Obviously this isn’t the news most Bloodborne superfans were waiting for, as most fans want a PC port from the Playstation 4 to PC or even a sequel. But this merchandise isn’t bad news at all, it means that Sony and From Software both recognize Bloodborne as a profitable enough IP that they’re willing to cash in on it with paraphernalia, so who knows? If Bloodborne continues its legacy as one of the all time great games, maybe we’ll finally get that port to PC, or even Playstation 5.
