Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is the open-world adventure game created by Prideful Sloth which contains veterans of Activision and Rocksteady. Players will be able to explore the vibrant, but troubled, world of Gemea starting around mid-May for the Nintendo Switch.
In Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles, the player is shipwrecked due to an unexpected storm, and they end up washing ashore onto the island of Gemea. While collecting their bearings, players find out that the natural beauty of Gemea has been tainted by a dark substance called Murk. It is then up to the player to cleanse the island of its evil with the help of townsfolk and through farming, crafting, cooking, brewing, and fishing. Throughout the player’s quest, they will explore eight different biomes on Gemea complete with day, night, and weather cycles. Explore grand forests, resplendent peaks, and breezy shores to meet and befriend lively villagers, find adorable animals, and discover secrets and your own leisure.
One special feature that will come with Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is a photo mode. In Photo mode, players can capture precious moments in the world of Gemea, customize the photo with different types of lens effects, and share them with friends. With graphics and character design as vibrant and eye-grabbing as Yonders, players are sure to find some special moments that are worth capturing. “Yonder can be your home away from home on Nintendo Switch,” says Cheryl Vance, co-founder and director at Prideful Sloth, in a press release. “We hope to see players embrace the calming feel of the game, no matter where they are.”
Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles will be releasing on the Switch May 17 on the Nintendo eShop for $29.99. For those who want something more, a physical release of the game will be available for $39.99 on June 12 in the United states, and it will also release on June 15 for Europe and Australia.
