‘The King’ is blasting his way into the popular PVP game. On July 12th, 2021, Epic Games released trailer and promotional pictures for the newest member of their Fortnite Icons Series; Lebron James.
Fortnite is nothing if not creative, and the third-person shooter game is known for its host of cool, outrageous, and amusing character skins. Constantly releasing new content, from Marvel Superheroes to bipedal foods, LeBron James is the next playable skin for fans of the game to put to the test. Available for play on July 14th, LeBron James arrives with two different outfits and new promotional gear.
The first, and primary, of Lebron James’ outfits, is a sleek black suit, customized to match James’ iconic look, called the King’s Back Bling. This outfit comes paired with gold accessories, a crown, and sunglasses. This regal outfit is shown off in full in the trailer.
Alongside this chic look is another unique Fortnite look. His second outfit, titled Tune Squad LeBron Outfit, serves a secondary purpose as well. James’ Tune Squad outfit is a promotional outfit for James’ new movie Space Jam: A New Legacy, and is based on James’ outfit from the upcoming film. The Tune Squad outfit will also feature a variant outfit, titled Taco Tuesday, which is a casual outfit that includes a taco t-shirt with a hat and shorts.
All of LeBron James’ new Fortnite skins will also feature his upcoming Nike shoe, the Nike LeBron 19, with each outfit showing off a different color variant of the shoe.
With the new LeBron James outfits, players can purchase the King James Gear Bundle, which will include The Lion Pickaxe, The Wingspan Glider, and The Silencer emote to use in-game. Likewise, each outfit and item will feature a color slider that allows players to add more than 20 golden variations to their new gear. The bundle will also group together all of James’ in-game outfits, as well as include a new in-game loading screen.
So gear up and get ready for the battles ahead! Fortnite is available for free download (with in-game purchases) on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, iOS, and Android. The LeBron James skin line will be released for in-game purchase on July 14th, 2021.
