Xsolla has announced two new innovations aimed at reshaping how players discover and engage with games: Cloud Gaming Trials and an upgraded Metasite platform for Unreal Engine creators. Both browser-based solutions remove the need for downloads or installs, making it easier for developers and publishers to connect with players while turning interest into revenue, according to a press release.
The global cloud gaming market is projected to exceed $10.4 billion, and Xsolla is targeting the growing demand for seamless access and monetization. Cloud Gaming Trials give players the chance to try games instantly through their browsers with no barriers to entry. Developers can offer timed demos, such as 15-minute sessions, while controlling monetization through options like pay-as-you-go and direct key sales for platforms including Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and Epic Games.
The platform also supports flexible marketing and distribution. Publishers retain ownership over player data and campaign performance while tracking engagement and conversions in real time. Controlled distribution allows for phased rollouts, media previews, or VIP access. With direct-to-consumer availability and support through Xsolla Mall, developers can lower acquisition costs while expanding global reach. Chris Hewish, President of Xsolla, described Cloud Gaming Trials as a way to transform marketing campaigns into measurable sales engines by giving players instant access while leaving developers in control of the player journey.
Alongside Cloud Gaming Trials, Xsolla revealed the next step for its Metasite platform. Now fully integrated with Unreal Engine, Metasites allow creators to build and launch multiplayer-ready 3D spaces directly in the browser. Features include custom avatars, voice and text chat, real-time commerce, and scalable architecture capable of supporting more than 10,000 concurrent users.
Metasites are designed to be accessible and creator-focused, with support for user-driven content, real-time sharing, and integrated monetization. Payments can be enabled for in-game items, access passes, or currency systems, all powered by Xsolla’s secure payment ecosystem. Referral tools and spawn placement mechanics make it easier for players to invite others and for creators to track campaign performance. Hewish said that early visions of the Metaverse failed because they were inaccessible and fragmented, but the company’s new approach offers instant multiplayer access without downloads or expensive hardware.
By combining instant access through Cloud Gaming Trials with community-driven 3D worlds in Metasites, Xsolla aims to bridge the gap between game discovery, player engagement, and monetization for both developers and players worldwide.
