After a three year absence, Xbox is back at Gamescom this year. Microsoft announced that they will be having the Xbox brand make its triumphant return to the Germany-based event, the first since 2019. The company’s plans for the event involves a very, very long stream, six hours to be exact. This will take place at the Xbox booth and will involve some insight to some already previously announced titles. Xbox also clarified that they are not planning on revealing any new titles at the event.

As we already mentioned, the livestream will be a whopping six hours and will commence from 5:00 AM PST / 8:00 AM EST all the way to 11:00 AM PST / 2:00 PM EST. The livestream will include interviews and gameplay from various developers and publishers in the Xbox Game Studios umbrella. This includes Mojang Studios, Obsidian Entertainment, World’s Edge and more. According to the post, some third-party developers will also show up and offer some further insight on their titles, new and upcoming.
While Xbox hasn’t set an official schedule of titles for Gamescom 2022, there are a plethora of names that we will more than likely see during this mammoth marathon. This includes Microsoft Flight Simulator, Gunfire Reborn, Sea of Thieves, Minecraft Legends, Grounded, Pertinent, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and Planet of Lana. They didn’t specifically mention if Bethesda would make an appearance, but considering that the studio/publisher is one of the most recognizable names in the Xbox umbrella, it’s highly likely that they’ll show up for some sort of gameplay session.
For anyone who is attending Gamescom 2022 in person, the Xbox will be situated at Hall 8 of the Koelnmesse Expo Center and will have the chance to try out some titles if you visit them. Xbox’s Gamescom livestream will be available to watch on their official YouTube and Twitch channels. The Gamescom Opening Night livestream, which is hosted by Geoff Keighly, will commence on August 23.
