Today was Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show 2026, and in it, there was a special joint announcement between famed game developer Hideo Kojima, his company Kojima Productions and Xbox which was “Hideo Kojima Reveals The Lead Cast Member of PHYSINT,” it was also shared in a joint YouTube video with the same name by the two company’s channels. There, Kojima himself discusses that there are “two exciting new IPs” on the way to Xbox.
He updates fans on OD-KNOCK, a new game currently in production that has Euphoria star Hunter Schafer and Dungeon & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Star Sophia Lills at the helm. Kojima remarks that it “is a completely new kind of game that tests the thresholds of fear.” Alas, they’re currently working on the game, so this is all the news they’re giving now.
Then, he gives more updates on PHYSINT which as he states “is the culmination of more than 40 years of my career.” “The project” is still ongoing, and they’re working on things like “casting, talent scans” and more. Hideo Kojima gives a lofty but exciting statement about the upcoming game, stating that the game “will redefine “action-espionage,” unbound by any existing genres in digital entertainment.” A comment that’ll no doubt excite fans more, as they wonder what kind of magic Kojima’s cooking for PHYSINT.
Kojima also expanded on the already revealed cast of PHYSINT which includes Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe, actors who have all had notable roles in recent movies. By revealing that the “lead role,” is going to be done by none other than Bill Skarsgård. A very surprising choice as it’s interesting to see the Pennywise actor step into the fray of video game acting, but the two have been synergizing well, as Hideo remarks that “The costume fittings, scans, and camera tests we conducted with Bill and Charlie earlier this year gave me tremendous confidence in the direction of the project.” The video ends soon after, putting an end to all of the updates, but as both games continue in development, there’s a lot to anticipate.
