Gamescom 2017 is in full swing in Germany, Microsoft Xbox is taking full advantage of the event to show off what they have coming in the next year. Kicking off with the announcement during an interview with the Creator of PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds, that they are partnering with Microsoft Studios to bring PUBG to the Xbox and are striving to make sure they game stays true to it’s feel during the transition.
With the Xbox One X and the Scorpio coming soon, enhancing games is certainly a priority at Microsoft Studios. The Xbox One X will sport 4k graphics, and to take advantage of that, Microsoft is making sure to upgrade games to make sure they can take advantage of this feature, even going back to enhance already released games as a free upgrade! This includes not only titles from Microsoft Studios, but a whole slew of games including;
- Assassin’s Creed Origins
- Diablo III
- Dishonored 2
- Fallout 4
- Halo 5
- Killer Instinct
- Monster Hunter World (well now I have to buy a Xbox One X)
- Shadow of War
- And many more, read the full list here.
Of course this only sweetens the deal with everything else that the Xbox One X offers such as increased backwards compatibility with Xbox Original Titles.
If you’re like us, the most important thing about any console is the games! And of course, Microsoft made sure to give us plenty of eye candy at this event showing several exclusive trailers!
They started with a new Assassin’s Creed Origins CGI trailer showing life in ancient Egypt and a smattering of combat which even at close range seemed to rely heavily on the bow.
They showed the world announcement trailer for Jurassic World Evolution, which appears to be a Giant Carnivorous Animal Tycoon game for the most part.
We got to see a 4k trailer for the ReCore Definitive Edition, which featured new expansion adventure content, customization corebots and of course upgraded graphics. What’s more, is that Shannon Loftis announced that this edition would be a free upgrade for anyone who owned ReCore!
World of Tanks showed off their trailer in glorious 4k, coming to the Xbox One X
Middle-Earth: Shadows of War brought some bang with a trailer featuring new monsters and beasts that can be tames and ridden, as well as showing the summoning of a Balrog. How does one face a Balrog without the assistance of Gandolf the Grey? By teaming up with some sort of crazy nature goddess and summoning leafy versions of trolls and wyverns of course!
All in all, it should be a dynamic year for the XBox, the sheer number of exclusives, enhancements and indie games are going to make sure that Xbox players are kept happy and entertained!
