Today, Xbox shared the first look at Xbox Series X gameplay from several of its third-party partners on the latest episode of Inside Xbox. There were a total of 13 games shown with a majority of the titles being revealed for the first time. All of the titles shown in the episode will be Xbox Series X Optimized which means that they will be taking full advantage of all of the features that Xbox Series X offers. Some of the titles will also be utilizing the new Smart Delivery feature which means that you only have to buy the game once and the best version of the game will be available for whichever platform you play it on.
Bright Memory Infinite combines a first-person shooter with various action genres. Players will combine a wide variety of skills and abilities to unleash dazzling combo attacks. The game is set in the year 2036 where scientists are investigating a strange phenomenon that is discovered to be connected to an archaic mystery.
Dirt 5 will have new features, innovations, and a fresh approach to make it a hub of amplified off-road racing, style, and culture.
Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure game designed around the idea of “being thrown into the world.” Players will explore different interconnected regions in a non-linear fashion. Every location will have its own theme (story), puzzles, and characters that are integral in creating a cohesive world. Players will open up new areas, acquire different skill sets, weapons, and various items throughout the game.
In Chorus, players will be in the shoes of Nara, a pilot with a haunted past and her sentient starfighter called Forsaken. Together, they will embark on a personal, redemptive journey to challenge a relentless foe and take down the cult that made her.
Madden NFL 21 will continue to evolve and innovate to deliver a more authentic and fun experience for players. The game is utilizing Smart Delivery and will be available to play when Xbox Series X launches later this year.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is the sequel to the cult classic and will have players rise through vampire society in Seattle, a city full of alluring, dangerous characters and factions. The game was set to be released earlier this year but was delayed. No new release date has been announced yet.
Call of the Sea is a first-person adventure puzzle game set in the 1930s. The game follows Norah as she tries to locate her missing husband, taking her to a strange and beautiful island in the South Pacific, filled with secrets.
The Ascent is a solo and co-op action RPG set in a cyberpunk world. After The Ascent Group, the mega-corporation that owns everyone collapses, it’s up to you to discover what really happened as gangs and other corporations attempt to take over.
The Medium is a psychological horror game from the makers of Blair Witch, Observer, and Layers of Fear. You play as Marianne, a medium who is trying to find out what happened to a child as she becomes haunted by visions of its murder.
Scarlet Nexus has players take on the role of Yuito Sumeragi, a new recruit to an organization with soldiers who possess psycho-kinesis. Using psychic abilities, players will explore the futuristic city of New Himuka and uncover the mysteries of a Brain Punk future.
Second Extinction is a three-player cooperative shooter where you have to work together to wipe out the mutated dinosaurs that have taken over the planet. You’ll use a combination of weapons, abilities, skills, and teamwork to fight through a vast number of enemies.
Yakuza: Like Dragon will be released as a launch title for Xbox Series X and is also supporting Smart Delivery. The game follows a new character in the series as he tries to get revenge on the members of the gang he thought of as family. Cross-save between Xbox One and Xbox Series X will be supported as well.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla puts players in the boots of Eivor, a legendary Viking Raider on a quest for glory. The game is set during England’s Dark Ages as you raid your enemies, grow your settlement, and build your political power in the quest to earn a place among the gods in Valhalla.
While this Inside Xbox was focused on third-party games, Xbox announced that we will be getting a first look at some of the titles from several Xbox Game Studios teams in July. During the episode, they shared that we will be getting a first look at gameplay from titles developed by Double Fine, Ninja Theory, Obsidian, and 343 Industries. This is all part of Xbox 20/20 where they will share something new every month leading up to the launch of Xbox Series X.
