Xbox Live Gold players have a bi-monthly chance at getting some amazing games for free on the first and the fifteenth of each month. This month of August, players can expect two games for X1 that excel in what they do, Forza and For Honor. As for the backwards compatible games, they include Dead Space 3 and Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two.
From August 1 to August 31 players have a chance to download Forza Horizon 2, the standard 10th anniversary edition of the game. From the official site, players can:
“Race through a massive wide-open world featuring dramatic weather and day to night cycles. Instantly connect with friends in the ultimate celebration of speed, style, and action-packed driving. Explore beautiful and exotic locations in more than 200 of the world’s greatest cars, all created with precise detail in 1080p.”
From August 15 to September 15, players can download the standard edition of For Honor, Ubisoft’s medieval fighting game. The game features three major factions (Samurai, Knights, and Vikings), with their own unique playable heroes with different combat styles. From fast flankers, hard-hitting heavies, to versatile spearmen, For Honor has a game style for whatever suits your medieval fancy.
Each half of the month offers Xbox Backwards compatible games, usually from the 360-era.
From August 1 – 15, players can live through the horrors of Isaac Clark in Dead Space 3 either alone or with a friend. The sci-fi horror series is considered a classic by many, players who missed it the first time now have a chance to get it again.
From August 16 – 31, players can adventure through the wonderful world of Disney in Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. As the title suggests players don’t have to adventure alone as they can have a friend jump in as Oswald the Rabbit, the lesser known Disney mascot.
These games are free for players who own Xbox Live Gold, so get them while you can.
