Ah, yes, the best part of being an Xbox Live Gold member – the new announcement of which games you get to snag for free this month. July’s lineup is up, and it’s a bit hard to follow after a month that had Goat Simulator and an XCOM entry, but we’ll take it.
For the Xbox One, The Banner Saga 2 will be available for free from July 1st to July 31st, and Tumblestone will be free from July 16 to August 15. The Banner Saga 2 is a tactical RPG and the sequel to The Banner Saga, and it seems that the Games with Gold release is earlier than its planned release date of July 26.
Tumblestone, an “action-puzzle game,” includes multiplayer and story modes. As players solve “progressively more difficult and creative puzzles,” they must find out what happened to the “Tumblecrown.” The game is set to launch July 12.
For the Xbox 360 and Xbox One via backwards compatibility, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 will be available from July 1 to July 15, and Tron: Evolution will be available from July 16 to July 31.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, launched back in 2008, is a standard Tom Clancy entry that follows the famous counter-terrorism unit through the Las Vegas Convention Center, a monorail station, and other “exotic locales” in order to free hostages and find bombs and chemical weapons.
Tron: Evolution is a third-person action-adventure game that originated as a tie-in game for the film Tron: Legacy. It has both single-player and multiplayer modes, with light cycle races and heavy influences from parkour and capoeira.
Be sure to keep an eye out for the newest releases, and snag the June Games with Gold while you still can!
