

The Xbox Games Showcase has finally started as of today, June 8th, and the reveal trailer for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, developed by an ongoing partnership between Focus Entertainment Publishing and Asobo Studio, was previewed. There was not an exact date announced for the game to release, but the game is set to release in 2026 to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox OC, Xbox Cloud, PlayStaton 5 and Steam. Players who own the Xbox Games Pass will be able to play Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy on day one of its release.
The trailer shows mountain landscapes and the main protagonist running away from a burning village. There is a montage of combat, and lastly, the main protagonist is standing in front of a monstrous creature. According to the description under the trailer, players will play as Sophia as she seeks for independence as a plunder in the “unforgiving world of the 14th century.”
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a prequel and set 15 years before the original game A Plague Tale: Innocence. In the new game, the young plunder Sophia is on the run and ends up at Minotaur’s Island. Through her stay, Sophia tries to discover the secrets behind Minotaur’s Island and escape the people who are after her, as well as solve puzzles. According to an article from IGN, the game will shift back and forth between the Middle Ages and Minoa.

The official Xbox Games Pass X account posted a tweet about the upcoming game that Focus Entertainment reposted. The post stated, “Myth, fate, and ancient curses. Just another day in the life in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy.”
