Game Freak Studios announced Beast of Reincarnation in the Xbox Games Showcase of 2025. Although the studio is best known for its Pokémon titles, Beast of Reincarnation seems more reminiscent of action RPG games.

The official release trailer gives the game a mythical atmosphere with the music and display of demonic-looking beasts. The main character appears to only wield a katana to face their foes, reminiscent of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Set in the year 4026, Japan is consumed by some unknown blight that produces a number of beasts that the main character Emma must fight off.

The trailer also seems to imply some kind of storyline between Emma and another character that eventually fights her. The relationship between the two is unclear, as the IP of Beast of Reincarnation is entirely original for Game Freak.

The official Steam page suggests that the game will emphasize demanding and technical combat in a single-player open world. The trailer and descriptions indicate the game will follow in the footsteps of games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Black Myth: Wukong, or even the Noir franchise. However, fans are still unsure since its a departure from typical games produced by Game Freak.

The game is set to release on PC via Steam and Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PX, and Xbox Cloud in 2026. More information is expected from studio Game Freak soon.
