It seems that the rumors were true. Not only did gamers everywhere see the new and improved Xbox One S, the community also caught a glimpse at Xbox’s future. Project Scorpio is a code name that Microsoft has devised for their most powerful system ever. The console is slated to drop Holiday 2017.
The new console boasts an immensely better GPU that can handle 4K gaming and can render at 60 Hz. Microsoft also announced that the console will have six teraflops of computing capability. This makes the console they are claiming to build an absolute beast by console standards. Check out the trailer bellow:
The tailer also confirmed that Bethesda is coming out with a Fallout 4 VR. The trailer also makes vague references to other “premier VR” but does not show them or the developers.
Phil Spencer spoke about how all consoles will be apart of the same family and that all Xbox One games will be playable on Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Project Scorpio. Spencer is referring to this as the “no one gets left behind” policy. Spencer also had these powerful words to say:
When it ships next year we believe it’ll be the most powerful console ever built.
It seems the console wars are not entirely over, Xbox has made its move with not one but two new consoles adding to the power of the original. The community can only wait and see what Sony will unveil later on today to match the big guns Xbox is showing.
