Wuthering Waves has just had its Version 1.3 “To The Shore’s End” reveal livestream. Unlike the previous versions which opted for showing the version trailer and then having small clips and infographics played afterwards to highlight the upcoming content, this livestream is significantly longer and is hosted by real people.
Beginning as always with the version trailer, the upcoming seems centered around the mysterious island of the Black Shores organization, with the protagonist coming across a few members on their journeys so far. This visit promises to reveal some answers to the mysteries that have been surrounding the game’s story since version 1.0. With this new main story chapter comes an entirely new area, the mysterious island.
To accompany the island’s release, a short video tour was played showing off the many locales of the island, and the underground cave network that makes the surface look all the more unassuming. It seems players will acquire new tools to help them traverse the many different landscapes, including something to let players surf, and unusual portals.
Upcoming characters introduced in the new story will be the four star Youhu and the five star Shorekeeper. Youhu is a Glacio resonator who uses gauntlets as her weapon of choice and is from Huanglong, as opposed to the Black Shores. Yonhu is a buffer character, with her different antiques providing different buffs. These different antiques are randomly provided outside of using Yonhu’s Resonance Liberation which allows players to select a specific antique for a specific buff.
The Shorekeeper is a Spectro resonator who wields a rectifier as her weapon of choice. As the name implies she is from the Black Shores, being the guardian of the island. She is a support and healer character, able to defend units from lethal damage, and buff damage during her Resonance Liberation. Since version 1.0 Verina has been the most in demand character for team building, as a phenomenal healer and buffer, but now there is someone else to help balance players required endgame teams. Scorekeeper is likely to be extremely popular, especially since players were just awarded a copy of the latest limited five star Xiangli Yao, so players should be able to save up quite a bit for her banner next patch.
That is just the tip of the iceberg for the upcoming version of Wuthering Waves, with new events, companion stories, enemies and bosses, and echoes to fight and collect all parts of the mix. Players will also benefit from a few quality of life updates, especially with the implementation of the new map. Version 1.3 “To The Shore’s End” will be live on September 29th.
