World War Z Ups The Challenge With The Six Skulls Update

One month after the first major content-packed update to World War Z the developers at Saber Interactive have already released the next update that is loaded with plenty of new additions and quality of life changes. The Six Skulls update puts difficulty at the forefront by adding the next setting, six-skull extreme difficulty. This challenge will be available for all missions and chapters to date, which will require even more particular strategizing, aim, and resource conversation. Those skilled enough to take on the sixth skull will be rewarded with unique rewards. Check out the launch trailer:

New gear that has been added and will tempt survivors with this update includes the Wakizashi melee weapon and a unique Sniper Rifle variant. The Wakizashi is awarded to players who finish any level on the new difficulty while the sniper is given to those who complete all levels on six skulls. Also, ammunition crates will have limited ammo available based on the selected difficulty level. The amount of ammo taken from a crate will depend on what kind of weapon is equipped and how much ammo the survivor has remaining. For the in-depth patch notes with AI, UI, and quality of life changes, check out the update’s page here.

World War Z players were already pleasantly surprised by the first free update, The Undead Sea. Now with The Six Skulls it really seems like Saber is dedicated to its player base. But apparently this isn’t even the big content drop that they are planning. At some point in August, what Saber is calling “The Big Update” will be released. Along with this free release will be a new weekly challenge mode, different weapon variants, character skins and accessories, and more.

World War Z’s The Six Skulls is out now for owners of the base game for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
