Over five years after the game’s release, Saber Interactive have released a brand new content update for their title World War Z: Aftermath. The new Battle for Arizona update brings a series of new additions for the game’s Horde mode, including a new map, as well as bug fixes to the co-op zombie shooter. The update was accompanied by a launch trailer for the new Battle of Arizona Update, which you can watch here:
The new map, simply titled Arizona, is “set in an abandoned military museum in Phoenix, AZ”, according to the new update notes on the World War Z Steam page. The new map is available to play now in Horde Mode XL. However, the new map is releasing exclusively to players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC only. So players on the game’s other platforms, including the Nintendo Switch and last-gen consoles, will not be able top experience the new map without upgrading their hardware.
The Battle for Arizona Update also adds a new pickup called the “Improving Bag”, which come in three possible variants. On pickup, Improving Bags will grant the player an extra 30% melee damage, an extra 20% ammo, or an additional equipment charge to your limit. Additionally, players are now able to change their class mid-game while playing Horde Mode, Horde Mode XL, and Horde Mode Challenge, as well as customize their player portrait with new frames.
A new DLC titled the “Desert Defenders Weapons Skin Pack” is also available for purchase as a part of the update. Buying the DLC pack grants players a new Kukri melee weapon, as well as skins for the DE50 pistol, 1877 SBL rifle, TMP5 SMG, and M500 shotgun.
