BlizzCon 2019 is just few days away and we’re really in the thick of it now. The anticipation is reaching it’s peak, and this can be attributed with the Opening Ceremony, the annual presentation of announcing all of the new IP’s and updates to existing ones. Of course since these are all AAA titles, we’re bound to have some leaks here and there, in fact we’ve already had Diablo IV leaked this past week. That trend continues with the potential leak of a brand new expansion for World of Warcraft, which was posted on MMO Champion, and subsequently tweeted by well known video game aficionado Nibel.
As you can see in the above tweet, the newest expansion seems to have the title of Shadowlands, and will involve the current champion of the Lich King, the jailor Bolvar Fordragon. Surprisingly enough, this leak was apparently from Blizzards Gear Blink Store, as someone spotted the art pieces of Bolvar in the store’s directory and posted them to the site before it was quickly taken down. Shadowlands has been a talking point for those traversing their way through the current expansion, Battle for Azeroth. It’s basically the afterlife, but we have yet to actually see it. On top of that, a brand new area, Bastion, might be introduced here too.
Current Warchief Sylvanas has very much been on a warpath of destruction, leaving death in her wake. Her most recent transgression has essentially alienated her from the remainder of the Horde, and has left the story on a bit of a cliffhanger. Quite frankly, it’s been a long time since we heard anything in regards to the Lich King and the Scourge. Ever since Arthas Menethil was slain in Wrath of the Lich King, the story has focused on the Burning Legion. We’d love to see them return in glorious fashion.
In addition, another art piece was leaked in relation to the rumored Overwatch 2. In the same post, we see an original print that showcases some of the heroes. However, the real eye catcher here is the inclusion of Echo, the omnic that was shown during the Overwatch reveal of Ashe from last years BlizzCon. This could indicate that she’ll be announced later this week, and possibly be a part of Overwatch 2. It’s important to note that none of this is confirmed and is still only considered speculation. While we are intrigued by these leaks, that’s all they will be until November 1 comes along.
BlizzCon 2019 will go from November 1, Friday through November 2, Saturday at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim California. We’ll be attending BlizzCon and reporting on all of the reveals and announcements directly, so keep an eye out for that when the convention starts!
