I attended WonderCon 2015 in Anaheim yesterday where Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D and other titles were available for hands-on play but unfortunately, long lines and my Tony Stark cosplay’s lack of dexterity prevented me from a successful demo to report. However, I did catch a glimpse of the rare fourth wave of amiibo figurines and prototypes for Yoshi’s Woolly World and Splatoon at the Nintendo booth! (High-resolution photos are courtesy of my cousin Joseph O.)
Wave 4 of the amiibo figurines will be available May 29. Below is a list of what to look forward to in addition to game compatibility and the functions of each (via the IGN Amiibo Wiki and Games Radar):

In addition to the forthcoming wave of Super Smash Bros. amiibo figurines will be the first in the Splatoon series. The wave will include Inkling Girl, Inkling Squid, and Inkling Boy, all of which unlock bonus missions that award special items, gear, and costumes (via IGN Amiibo Wiki). The series is also scheduled for release on May 29.
Then there’s my personal favorite, the yarn Yoshi amiibo, which will undoubtedly sell out faster than any of the pre-ordered amiibos to date. This adorable little guy will be available sometime this Fall and supposedly unlocks a second playable Yoshi that will follow like a clone and can be used for throwing (via IGN Amiibo Wiki). There is currently no release date for Yoshi’s Woolly World or any word to confirm whether or not the rumors are true regarding a green Yoshi accompanying the game purchase.
