Today STUDIOARTDINK and ININ Games has announced that their new game Wonder Boy: Asha In Monster World, will be releasing on May 28. The game will be available for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, and will release onto Steam next month on June 29. Wonder Boy: Asha In Monster World is a remake of 1994’s Monster World IV.
Wonder Boy: Asha In Monster World is a 2D platformer where you play as Asha as she embarks on a journey to free four spirits that have been confined by evil. Players will work there way through levels by jumping and slashing enemies with Asha, while also using their companion Pepelogoo to help in a variety of ways such as hitting hard to reach places, slowing Asha’s fall, and allowing her to double jump. The story and gameplay supposedly should remain faithful to the original Monster World IV, but with new cell shaded 3D graphics and minor refinements to the gameplay.
Wonder Boy: Asha In Monster World will release May 28 on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, and on Steam on June 29. The game will be purchasable through online stores for $34.99 USD. Additionally a retail version will also be available and contains a copy of the original Monster World IV for $39.99 USD. Three limited edition versions of the game are currently available for preorder and include: Limited Edition which features a color manual and reversible box art, Collectors Edition features a world map the games soundtrack, its art book, and a number of smaller goodies, and the Mega Collector’s Edition which features everything from the Collectors Edition plus even more collectibles such as a figurine and vinyl sticker.
