

A month ago, during Comic Con, Wizards of the Coast decided to reveal the first look at the upcoming Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man set which brings together a web of thrilling encounters, with cards featuring Spider-Man, Miles Morales. and Gwen Stacy as well as a breakdown of some of the new things that this set is bringing. Today, Wizards of the Coast shared the full set and showcased the villains that are coming to the set, including Venom, Green Goblin, Dr. Octavius and the Sinister Six. Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man marks the beginning of a new chapter in the Magic | Marvel collaboration with the set bringing the excitement of high-flying action and heroics to dynamic card treatments through original artwork and gameplay mechanics that reflect Spider-Man’s agility, ingenuity, and unbreakable sense of responsibility.


















While heroes such as Spider-Man, Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Spider-Man 99, and more were the focus of the last reveal. This set is focused on the Spider-Man’s rogue’s gallery with the likes of Venom, Green Goblin, and the Sinister Six who consists of Dr. Octopus, Kraven the Hunter, Vulture, Mysterio, Electro, and Sandman.














There are multiple styles of Behold the Sinister Six! which is a sorcery. It allows players to return up to six target creature cards with different names from your graveyard to the battlefield.








Venom and Green Goblin are unique compared to the other villains due to their alter egos, Eddie Brock and Norman Osborn which means that they can transform. When Eddie Brock enters, players can return target creature card with mana value 1 or less from the graveyard to the battlefield. Eddie Brock’s transformation can only activate as a sorcery. When Brock transforms, he turns into Venom, Lethal Protector, a 5/5 with menace, trample, and haste. Whenever Venom attacks, players can sacrifice another creature. If they do, they draw X cards, then they can put a permanent card with mana value X or less from their hand onto the battlefield, where X is the sacrificed creature’s mana value.




Norman Osborn, on the other hand, can’t be blocked. Whenever Norman Osborn deals combat damage to a player, he connvies (Draw a card, then discard a card, If you discarded a nonland card, put +1/+1 counter on this creature. And like Eddie Brock, Osborn’s transformation into Green Goblin can only be activated as a sorcery. Green Goblin has flying and menace. Spells that cast from the graveyard cost 2 less to cast. Green Goblin also has Goblin Formula with each nonland card in a player’s graveyard has mayhem. The mayhem cost is equal to its mana cost. Players can cast a card from the graveyard for its mayhem cost if it was discarded this turn, with timing rules still applying.
















One of the special things about the Spider-Man set are the showcase scene cards that when combine, form a stunning scene that looked like it came straight out of a comic book. The other special thing that this set celebrates is art from iconic Spider-Man comic source material by Jack Kirby, Todd McFarlane, John Romita Sr., Mike Zeck & Bob Mcleod and more featured on cards inspired by iconic characters.
















These Marvel sets are also bringing in the Infinity Stones into Magic: The Gathering. The Marvel’s Spider-Man set has the Soul Stone. There are three versions of the card that appear in the set. Wizards of the Coast is also celebrating all of the costumes Spidey has worn throughout the years with Borderless costume change cards.
Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man launches globally next month on September 26, 2025.
