For centuries, our worlds were held together, bound by ancient spires who protected them. But something has broken. A great corruption is spreading. The fate of the worlds is in your hands.
This is Witchspire, a new adventure survival game from Envar Studios, which has just released for early access on Steam, as of 6/10/2026.
Described as a “co-op open world adventure”, players have the opportunity to rescue their universe from corruption, while simultaneously befriending magical creatures (‘familiars’), training to develop their powers, and exploring the world around them. Witchspire players are able to harvest various food resources, but they must use a magical pickaxe to do so. Differing from other survival games, however, these food resources are only used to enhance powers and heal characters; in other words, it is impossible to die of starvation.
Shelter, however, is a must. Players are able to use astral projection, which completely removes them from the boundaries of gravity. This allows them to build a home that is the most appropriately equipped for their group’s needs. Joining a coven, like teamwork, is heavily encouraged through unique outfits and starter packs.
Envar Studios expects Witchspire to be available in early release format only for at least a year, because they believe that player feedback is essential in finalizing the game. This feedback will be gathered from comments, Q and A sessions, and discussion in Steam forums and Discord servers. The final version will build on the skeleton model of the early release, adding to both the world Witchspire takes place in, as well as the story.
So far, the game has over 150 ‘very positive’ reviews on Steam. Currently, the early access gameplay for Witchspire is available to download for a reduced price, and will remain at a reduced price until the full version is released. The early release trailer is available below from the official Envar Studios YouTube channel.
