Witcher 3 Developers Announce Card Games And E3 News Up Their Sleeve

Rockstar, triple-A developers based in Poland, CD Projekt Red, are no veterans to surprising us. Having spearheaded the famous and award winning Witcher series for a number of years–most recently releasing well received and (unsurprisingly, with instant satisfaction based downloadable content) slightly glitchy, second released DLC Blood and Wine. Many were sad to hear that the most recent of Geralt of Riveria’s adventures is, according to developers, to be the last before he rides into the sunset on Roach. However, the world of the Witcher might just carry on.

A two-part announcement, one out in the open for us to know, the other kept quite cloak and dagger as the approaching video game convention of pretty much all year, E3, draws nearer and nearer by the day, CD Projekt Red hints that we can expect many new, fun things out of them!

First up is a real-life version of their Witcher in-game card game, Gwent! Expected to be slightly similar (at least according to initial fan impressions) to Blizzard’s fanatically popular electronically rendered card game, Hearthstone. While no consoles/platforms, nor an estimated release date, it is heavily speculated the game will enjoy at least a mobile release.

CD Projekt Red recently hinted we can look forward to another game from them in 2016–which very well could be this new card game.

However, they separately stated that we can expect another AAA role-playing game from them by at least 2021. But the nature of what CD Projekt Red will announce, exactly, remains shrouded in mystery–but what would be the fun without that?

Let’s keep our eye on the horizon, we just might get a load of great news dropped in our laps!
