Windrose, a co-op pirate survival game that is being developed by the Windrose crew, has officially surpassed 1.5 million wishlists on Steam, making it one of the most wishlisted games on the page. And to follow up on this milestone on April 9, 2026, Windrose showcases a trailer during the Triple-I showcase, where the reveal of the early access is coming to Steam and the Epic Games Store on April 14, so you will be able to sail the seven seas by yourself or with some buddies soon enough.
With the game surpassing 1.5 million wishlists, the game has left a good impression with just a demo alone. And being able to follow up this achievement by showcasing more gameplay of the game and giving players a date on when they can jump in and explore what the game has to offer, only being a week away, this game might be one of the biggest this year, with all these numbers. Windrose won’t be your typical pirate game. You will be able to sail the seas alone or with up to 4 people. Windrose will feature “intense combat and engaging exploration on land and sea,” as well as the ability to gather resources to build bases and grow settlements, making it distinctive from other pirate games such as Sea of Thieves.
Windrose comes to Steam and the Epic Games Store on April 14, and the developer says this about the early access length: “We believe it will take from 1,5 to 2,5 years to reach the full release version.” They also have this to say about the current state of the early access: “Windrose is a fully playable survival adventure with optional co-op. Depending on various factors, the main story will take around 50-70 hours to complete, but this may vary depending on the playstyle.” With so much promised in the early access of the game, Windrose is shaping up to be one of the biggest co-op games of the year. Once again, with the early access release on April 14, you will be able to jump in solo or up to 4 people and explore all that the game has to offer. So I wish you luck as you brave the open sea on April 14.
