While On Their Break, Many NBA Players Become Twitch Streamers

With no games or practices to participate in due to most experts advising people to stay home and remained distanced, many NBA players are passing their time at home by playing video games. At the same time, many are turning to Twitch to interact with their fans and stay entertained. Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic and Miami Heat star Meyers Lenord both tweeted and gave fans an update on what they have been up since the NBA was suspended following Rudy Gobert’s positive test for coronavirus.

The next day Doncic asked his followers what to do in order to set up a live stream. After doing so, he was contacted by numerous accounts such as PowerGPU (who offered to help him set up), Empire Clayster (a Dallas based Call of Duty team), and many fans who offended advice on setup equipment. As of now Luka has finally set up his Twitch account and started streaming (a link to his account is listed below).

Just a few days ago, Devin Booker found out that the rest of the NBA season was suspended while playing Call of Duty: Warzone. Before the suspension of the league, Booker was already a regular on the streaming site with games such as Borderlands, Call of Duty, and Mortal Kombat 11. His children, wife, and of other NBA friends occasionally make appearances in his streams to either play along, or commentate with him.

Here are the current NBA players that are taking up part-time hobbies as Twitch Streamers;

Alex Caruso,

Devin Booker

Paul George

De’Aaron Fox

Meyers Leonard

Mario Hezonja KAT Ben Simmons (hasn’t streamed in a while though),

Gordon Hayward(also hasn’t streamed in a while),

Dylan Windler

Luka Doncic

Royce O’Neale( been streaming with Donovan Mitchell as well)

Josh Hart

and

 Justin Jackson

At the same time, the Phoenix Suns are expecting to play the rest of their 2020 season on NBA 2K20 on Twitch. As the coronavirus pandemic starts to spread, many other events have been postponed or canceled to support the advice of social distancing to slow down the spread of the virus. In addition to the NBA being canceled, the NFL draft has also seen an early end to in-person meetings, along with the March 11th cancellation of E3 2020.
