In just a few short hours Nintendo will begin their massive 45-minute Nintendo Direct. That’s almost twice as long as their E3 2017 Spotlight. And, from what Nintendo has said on their website, the focus is mainly going to be on upcoming releases for the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS.
So what can we expect to see?
Nintendo’s biggest upcoming release this holiday season is without a doubt, Super Mario Odyssey. We fully expect this Direct to spend a lot of time showing new gameplay footage and updates of our favorite plumber. Another classic Nintendo character also has a brand new game coming out, which was announced back in April. Yes, I’m talking about that mysterious Kirby game. The only thing we know for sure about it right now is what was originally stated on that direct, “A new multiplayer action game for the Nintendo 3DS.”
There are so many other games that could get screen-time on today’s direct too. More first party titles such as Fire Emblem Warriors, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Pokken Tournament DX, Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon and we wouldn’t be surprised to see third-party titles, like Skyrim (where’s that release date?) and the recently announced L.A. Noire, get some attention as well.
Beyond games it’s awesome to think about what Nintendo could showcase during this direct. From new Amiibo’s, to a possible virtual console, to new apps, downloadable content and holiday deals! I personally hope (as I always do with any Nintendo Direct) that there’s a brand new game announcement. Let me know what you hope to see in the comments!
Also, to watch the Direct you can tune in to Nintendo’s website or to their YouTube Channel at 3:00PM PT.
